Manifesting
You feel it… it’s so close. You’ve tried and tried again but you cannot manifest that thing, that experience, that person you wanted. You’re doing all the right things - aren’t you? You’ve said all the words, visualized, chanted, imagined, and did some rituals, but it’s not working… or is it? Perhaps it isn’t what you are doing, but what you’re not doing.
Manifestation is a team effort - you are co-creating with the universe. And, while the universe is always ready to assist, the process requires a bit more nuance, patience, and work than most of us are aware of. Sometimes it's very hard to realize that getting what we want is hardly ever an instantaneous experience, especially in a world that seems to tell us otherwise.
Unfortunately, when it comes to manifestation it’s not about the exchange of currency for goods, and services. It’s the matching and aligning of frequency, which most of us aren’t naturally trained to do. In order to facilitate a manifestation, we must learn to let go of the idea that we give orders, and the universe follows them. It’s time to let go of the idea of making a demand and expecting a prompt delivery. It’s time to understand manifestation requires us to surrender to a new way of thinking, being, and creating.
Release the Need to Control
Surrendering is its own practice, and every day there’s an opportunity to work on it. The first thing you must recognize is what’s within your control. The simple answer is You. You can control yourself, if you first recognize who you already are, what’s working, and what isn’t, and commit to correcting how you react to life, or, in this case, the reality provided by the universe itself.
If you know you tend to do a lot of negative self-talk, self-doubt, and self-sabotage, make sure you have the tools in place to not only counteract these tendencies but replace them altogether with healthier, high vibrational reactions. When we become aware, and better co-creators, we are facilitating our part in manifestation. And now, the universe can do its part of deciding on the divine timing to deliver to us a manifestation that serves our best and highest good.
Ways to Learn to Release Control
Journaling
Journaling is great idea to write down all your fears, concerns, self-doubts, and “what ifs” to remove this energy from the mind and body. It’s not that we should ignore our fears, so much as it’s about not allowing them to control us. It also gives us a chance to objectively see the areas of ourselves that require improvement to keep ourselves aligned with the universe.
Exercise
There’s much discussion about meditation, but we should also be aware movement can be meditative. The idea is to stop the mind from fixating on the manifestation by concentrating on something else. Moving the body increases oxygen levels, boosts endorphins, and moves energy blocks that oftentimes represent pent-up anxiety, keeping us from thinking or feeling things clearly. It doesn’t matter if the exercise is running, dancing, yoga, or tai chi - as long as it short-circuits your mind from ruminating on the manifestation, allowing the universe to do its part without interference.
Breathwork and Visualization
Conscious breathing creates stillness within the body. It shuts off all the chatter and chaos we tend to create when we want to control things. In the case of manifestation, once we are clear on what we want and contribute the necessary energy, it’s a good idea to sink into our breath, while consciously releasing our energy that wants to direct the flow of the universe. It can be as simple as closing your eyes, taking some deep breaths, and picturing yourself opening your hand and releasing the idea you want to manifest into the universe. Think of it as handing off part of a project to your business partner so that they can make the necessary contributions to move things forward. You’ve done all you can do, and it’s time to hand it off to someone else.
Allow
When we allow something to happen, we have removed all need to provide any more input. We remove all desire, expectation, and need to pour our energy into it. Instead, we choose to focus our energy on something else that requires our attention. For example: self-care, time spent in nature, time spent with family and friends, and creative endeavors as a means of self-expression.
Remember our need to control ourselves doesn’t have to be a negative trait if it is understood, managed well, and executed properly to make ourselves better. Relax into knowing you’ve done your part and trusting that the universe will always do the rest. The point is: every “problem” has a “solution,” we need only to first acknowledge the problem. Once you have your tools you can balance every negative with a positive and work at it until it becomes second nature. This is what is meant when you hear the phrase, “Surrender to the process” or “Surrender to healing”.
Letting Go of What No Longer Works
The universe provides situations and experiences that lay the groundwork for what we call reality. Our choices manifest our personal experiences. Understand? Every “yes” or “no” you speak and/or act upon creates a situation, a result, and an enhanced experience. And it’s up to you to decide how you will react. So, yes, you already manifest, you do it all the time, almost every day from the very beginning of your life. The major difference is you likely weren’t aware that you were doing it… but what if you were? What if you took the time to pay attention to the reality the universe was offering and chose to intentionally enhance it through your choices? Mind you, the opposite is also true because the universe always says, “Yes! I will assist you, as long as you can match my frequency”, this is an important detail missing in most conversations around manifesting. The universe creates the “scene”, and you choose what your character will do in it. You choose more than you control. Therefore, in order to manifest as a co-creator, you’re going to have to trust the timing of the universe in how, when, and the level of detail of the delivery of your manifestation. You’re going to have to trust and surrender in order to get anything done at all.
We must be willing to allow ourselves to change in order to manifest. Manifestation is a future endeavor. One that must be addressed in the present. This means that we must be honest about what changes need to be made in our lives in order to manifest. And, in most cases this means relationships. Does your current relationship with yourself, and the outside world energetically reflect what it is that you are trying to manifest? If not, it may be time to course correct:
- Is there an old habit you need to break?
- Is it time to address a deep secret that’s been weighing you down?
- Is there a toxic relationship with someone you’ve hesitated to end?
- Is it time for you to vocalize your needs in your relationship with others?
- Is it time to set and defend boundaries?
All of these things affect our ability to manifest a better future for ourselves.
Out with the Old, In with the New
In order for you to allow the universe to assist you in your manifestation, it’s important that you are clear on where you are in your life. You must be willing to release the idea of who you were to become who you want to be. For example, you may have a wonderful idea of who you want to be and what you want to manifest, but without believing in yourself and emanating the right vibration, you’ll unlikely start doing the work needed to co-create. Which leaves your energy being read as “wishing” rather than doing.
Your message to the universe is “I want to do it, but I’m afraid.” Thus, the universe will help you create what you fear because that is where your efforts are invested. Ideally, you would allow yourself to be afraid, immediately release the fear and show up anyway and invest in raising your frequency. Think of your vibration as the foundation upon which all manifestations will be built. The foundation needs to be sound, level, and strong in order for it to carry the weight of your manifestation. If you’re noticing there are aspects of yourself that need addressing, focus on them and repair the foundation as needed.
4 Ways to Raise Your Vibration
Getting Rest
It’s going to be hard to manifest anything if you’re not taking care of yourself. Love yourself enough to take time to rest when you need it. The world not only can wait but sometimes it must. Resting is required for healing, creating, and performing even life’s most mundane tasks. While we may treat it as an option, our bodies will often remind us (painfully), that rest is in fact a requirement.
Eating Well
Food is energy. When trying to keep your vibration high, please make sure you are giving your body what it needs for optimum performance. This isn’t about restricting food but developing a relationship with your body that creates happiness, clarity, and joy, and allows you to be present.
Spend Time Alone
Always make sure you are checking in with yourself. It may be uncomfortable at first, but it gives you the opportunity to self-examine and know exactly who you are, and where you are in your life.
Maintain Healthy Relationships
Who we spend time with is important because we are constantly exchanging energy with one another. Make sure you keep yourself surrounded by people who want to see you happy and healthy and support you in this way.
Manifestation Is Your Birth Right
Understand, you were born with the ability to manifest because it is a product of free will. Free will by definition makes us co-creators. Manifestations like all things can be instantaneous or take time. It will always depend on who you are, what stage of awareness you are in, your frequency level, and surrendering to the universe, the ultimate creator.
There are levels to your ability to manifest that will reflect your understanding of both yourself and the process. You often manifest many things at once, without realizing it. It’s likely the biggest of those projects that are the most difficult to find patience for. But know this: The answer from the universe remains, “Yes”, even if it’s accompanied by, “but, not right now…” or, “you’re not ready…”, “I’m not ready...”, or “that’s not for you, but this is…”.
While waiting can be frustrating, trust the universe knows what’s best for you, and release the need to control, dictate, or fill in the blanks where it isn’t needed. Instead, focus on finding the alignment and flow with it. Refine your ability to trust, to let go, to change, and to grow. It’s very likely that when what you co-created arrives, it will be beyond your expectations and imagination, and more than you could ever hope for.
